David reminded me of just how good the biographical/historical book on JSG Boggs really is. I highly recommend Lawrence Weschler's wonderfully amusing and informative book Boggs: A Comedy of Values about this artist who draws money. It will make you think about those small rectangular pieces of paper you carry in your wallet in an entirely new light. Steve F. turned me on to this book, and I have given away a couple of copies myself.

While we're on extruded items...
You guys did hear about the Cloaca at the New Museum of Contemporary Art on NPR yesterday, right?

A different kind of 'food styler', they feed the work of art, which processes the food similar to the human digestive system. Very similar.

An Unintentionally (?) Queer Food Styler

The Le Presse Gourmet Food Styler (and just what is a "food styler"? (and would a straight man ever buy one?)) caught my attention on one of my all-too-frequent late night strolls through the TeeVee wasteland. In particular, I was intrigued (and repulsed) that Le Presse allows you to extrude your own sausage. (Yes, they used that word. (The last time (actually, the only time) I've heard extrude used in conversation was by Baze, who was commenting on the wonders of the New Jersey (traffic) barrier.))

Perhaps the Le Presse people recognize that some large portion of the kitchen gadget market is gay, as their online advert lists (among others) the following features:

  • Matching Male Pushers
  • Extruder
  • Suction base

Matching Male Pushers? Takes one's breath away. And given that the attachments are color-coordinated, they must be targeting the gay demographic. Though, as a francophonic fag [note: not a "corporate safe" link], I must point out that (in French, at least) presse is feminine, which makes the correct article la instead of the masculine le (though this may be a calculated part of their secret gay agenda as well).

BTW, if you somehow don't have time to watch all those great infomercials on TV, you can still order them online from here.

No Longer Flying High

Why can't things like this ever happen in my backyard?

Well, while Bellyfuzz's most honorable webmaster has been filtering through visual media, I've been combing through internet radio.

At the moment, I'm listening to Dave Pierce in London on Radio 1. The dance anthems show is on right now: its kind of what the LBJS's Mega 93.3 wants to be, only without the ads for breast enhancing pills, and the dj's actually have brains. Here's a shortcut directly to the stream (Realplayer). This works best if you use Jerry's company to plug into the net with your cable. :-) If you glance at their schedule, you'll see a pretty good mix of styles. Of course hearing some of the Drum & Bass tracks take me back to an evening in the club Heaven with another frequent poster, chilling in the Dakota Bar upstairs. Very groovy.

But for those around the world that can't stand only a little bit of dance, London has a radio station caters to gay & lesbian clubbers in particular: Purple Radio. (Flash and Windoze Media req'd. If you want the stream only, it can be found here, so no annoying flash & ads: stream me baby!) Lots of 140BPM, for those mornings when the caffeine hasn't quite kicked in yet, and sometimes some really new stuff. Things that probably might make it onto Mega in about 9 months.

Viva streams!

Ha! Ha ha ha! Ha ha!
