That's a Lot of Turtle Videos
A day after the Senate voted to abolish the enormous campaign contributions known as soft money, Democratic Party officials said today that they recently received a $7 million check, the largest known donation in the history of American politics.

The check came from Haim Saban, the creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, according to The NY Times story which also details a separate, $5 million dollar donation from a Hollywood executive. Interestingly, the story reports both donations were earmarked to bring the Dems technology capabilities up to the level of the GOP, in computing, telemarketing, email, and other solicitation areas especially. Sick & Tired
Another suicide bomber in Israel today. Another yesterday. Another the day before. More than 1000 dead in such bombings and related attacks. I am so tired of it--the news reports blur. I hate the bombers. I hate the Israeli's who have created such terrible conditions in Palestinian territories they have occupied.

Isn't anyone else there tired of it? It took a large number of murders and retaliations in Northern Ireland, over decades to bring both sides to the table under cease-fire conditions, but it happened. I don't think anything looks even remotely promising in Israel, as long as two intractable positions are held without compromise. The Israelis of all people should know what it's like to be without a homeland, and cede what is due to the Palestinians. And Arafat and the Palestinians should know that terrorism has never really accomplished any goal.

I'm exhausted by it, and what is all-too-often one-sided coverage.
