Bad Day At The Office? If you thought you were having a bad day, think about this poor minister who was clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time at Kabul International Airport. Yikes. Talk about "killing the messenger!"
Hello all. Been ages since I've checked the site. ;( Does anyone want to go see Le Pact de Loups? I've seen it already, but would like to go again. It was fantastic (it's French, with English subtitles: Brotherhood of the Wolf).
Please Go Laugh Tonight at 8 p.m. My friend Michelle -- a Bellyfuzz member -- is participating in tonight's Austin Showcase for the Montreal Comedy Festival. 8 p.m. tonight at Capital City Comedy Club. I know that some of you are in Amsterdam and won't be able to make it. But the rest of you, well you have no excuse not to go laugh uproariously at a fellow Bellyfuzzer. Unless you do have an excuse. Anyhoo, here's the message she sent out about the event:
attention all of you who express interest in my comedic endeavors and the other 99 of you can continue in ignoring my emails and practice convincingly explaining to me how you never get them.
i will be in the austin showcase for the montreal comedy festival. the show is at 8pm at cap city, tomorrow, tuesday feb.12. it's basically an audition to maybe get an audition to maybe get to go to montreal to be in their festival. other comics appearing will be chris fairbanks, the matts (sadler and bearden), martha kelly, rich gabe, mack lindsey, and justin sanders. it should be a great show. did i mention that one of top favorite a-number-one comics ever, mr.todd barry, will be hosting? he's fabulous. cover is $9 for a great show. i also have some tickets to get in for $2 if you let me know you want dibs on them.
now, for my pleading. come to the show. this is something where it is really beneficial to have a great audience. it will be a great show. i am excited to be in it. and there is a good possibility that one of us might get to go to montreal to comedy fest it up there. and that is good.
be there or be somewhere else doing what you have to do that conflicts with the showcase or what you scheduled so you would have something that conflicted with the showcase so you wouldn't have to go see more comedy because you're sick of it and me and the system.
happy valentine's day.
michelle "have a heart" biloon
Don't be sick of the system. Laugh at Michelle instead. Sit quietly through everyone else's set. ROFLMQAO at Michelle only. That is all.
Top 10 Things I like About Amsterdam 1. It's not in Austin
2. I'm surrounded by tall, mostly blonde, vaguely Scandinavian looking men who smile at me frequently.
3. The coffeeshops present an interesting experiment in social liberties, and I am a willing participant in the "non-control" group.
4. Two words: Massage & flotation
5. Bars open late (filled with same tall blonde guys)
6. Coffeeshops open late too.
7. Gezelligheid. (See also "craic" or "gemutlichkeit" for similarly untranslatable words describing a feeling of coziness, warmth and fun with friends and strangers alike).
8. Kaas broodtjes (Dutch cheese sandwiches) on fresh-baked crusty loaves of bread.
9. Proximity to Belgium, the beer capital of the universe, means lots of great beers served with care.
10. RESPECT. For beer, for coffee, for people, for soft drugs, for doing things right or not doing them at all.
I guess I'd have to add an "11" for the way-cool internet cafe from which I am posting this. Check out how to do cheap internet access right at the rate of 1 Euro (88 cents) for 48-90 minutes access) with 4 Euros buying 24 hours worth at most times. The shop has more than 200 flat panel screens, keyboards and mice at side-by-side-stations ready for logon, and they reboot after every session. To see what this location looks like, check out the photo labeled "Amsterdam Interior" under this link to see what the place looks like. It's cool, clean and centrally located near Rembrandtplein.
